This is one of my favorites and always a hit at pot lucks/dinners! I do change it up a bit and use peppermint patties instead of crushed peppermint candy. And, I don't do the marshmallows- I put a layer of peppermint patties in the middle too.
You can't use "real" whipped cream or it will be watery on top. If you use cool whip, it should last more than one day without being watery. I've never had that issue.
This pie was a huge hit at Thanksgiving. Everyone commented on how pretty is was. I made chocolate pumpkins to put on it instead of stars. Will definitely make this again.
