Make It

Tap or click steps to mark as complete

  • Pour dressing over chicken in resealable plastic bag; seal bag. Refrigerate 30 min. to marinate. Remove chicken from marinade; discard bag and marinade.
  • Heat grill to medium heat. Place chicken on grill.
  • Grill 12 to 15 min. or until done (165°F), turning and brushing occasionally with barbecue sauce.

Variation

Marinate chicken in glass dish instead of plastic bag.

Food Facts

If chicken breasts are thick at one end, flatten thick end of chicken to ensure even cooking.

Use Your Oven

Don't know what to do if your grill runs out of gas unexpectedly or if it starts to rain? Just place the chicken on a baking sheet and bake at 400°F for 20 min. or until done.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Hi, this is Angie. Hi, this is Angie. I live on a boat and actually use my oven since I don't have an utside grill. I prepared this in the oven but do believe it would be more succulant in a grill. A note to Richard Craig 54 You probably didn't marinate the chicken long enough. Actually it is too easy to overcook chicken because we are afraid of the consequence of undercooking same. Thank you Kraft Kitchens, once again wonderful ideas. Angie, Marina del Rey, Ca.

I made this chicken last night, I marinated the chicken in Catalina, instead of the ceaser, I did not have any.. It turned out wonderful and so moist, and I used the BBQ sauce, only I added 1/4 cup italian dressing, 1/4 cup of bbq sauce and 2 tablespoons of orange marmalade.. it was so good, everyone loved it. IM not much of a griller, and let me tell you, By the way the chicken tasted, you would had guessed i was Bobby flay!

I put the chicken in Ranch dressing before I went to work one day and made it in the oven after work. Chicken was so moist and tasty! My picky husband absolutely loved it! He even asked that I make it the next week. I gave this recipe to my mom and she made it on the grill w/ Zesty Italian. It had a different flavor that was also very good. And we both agree that the easy cleanup was an added bonus! : D

I've been marinating my chicken (wings, legs, breast, etc) in italian dressing for years, prior to cooking on the grill, then basting w/sauce. It's always a hit. I will definitely try with the caeser next time. This also works great with boneless pork chops too. The dressing helps to prevent sticking (as does not trying to turn the meat too soon) and adds so much flavor!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This was the best BBQ chicken my husband ever made! This was the best BBQ chicken my husband ever made! Instead of the usually burnt, tough chicken, this was moist and juicy. My 3-yr old said this was her favorite food. We didn't have the Classic Ceasar dressing and substituted Zesty Italian instead. I guess the marinating keeps the chicken moist while grilling. We will definitely do this one again!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I served this chicken with the Miracle Rice recipe instead of cooking the chicken with the rice. I served this chicken with the Miracle Rice recipe instead of cooking the chicken with the rice. Topped it with cheddar cheese and stuck it in the microwave long engough to melt the cheese. This tastes very similar to Fiesta Lime Chicken you get at Applebees. You probably could add a little lime juice and you would have the same thing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This recipe was fabulous! This recipe was fabulous! Very moist and flavorful. I was a little hesitant because we aren't big on BBQ sauce, but it wasn't overpowering. My husband and both sons loved it too. We followed a suggestion and made extra chicken to do a cold chicken, spinach and pear salad another night. We'll definitely do both again!

In the magazine the recipe was slightly different, instead of caesar dressing it was italian dressing. It was 1/4 cup ital dressing marinade, then 1/4 cup ital dress mixed with 1/4 cup bbq sauce & 2 TB of orange marmalade(I sub with Apricot Jelly cuz that's what I had). Very good and husband very critical liked it.
