Use a 2-inch heart-shaped cookie cutter and place it just above the center of the chilled cheesecake. Sprinkle colored sugar in the cookie cutter. To maintain heart shape, use a light touch when sprinkling crystals. Remove the cookie cutter and place it directly to the right side of the heart you just made, with the bottom points touching. Repeat sprinkling the sugar. Next, make a third and last green heart on the left side of the center heart, again, bottom points touching.
Enjoy a serving of this rich and indulgent cheesecake on a special occasion.
Omit green colored sugar. Prepare recipe as directed, substituting 2 Tbsp. almond-flavored liqueur for the creme de menthe, and using a ready-to-use graham cracker crumb crust. Top with 1 can (21 oz.) cherry pie filling just before serving.
Substitute green cake decorating crystals for the green colored sugar.
