Rated 4 out of 5 by from The recipe was completely delicious. The recipe was completely delicious. The family enjoyed it greatly. The only problem that we had with it was that the recipe calls for a 35-40 min bake time, but the middle was still very gooey and oozed when we finally cut into the center. I ended up adding an extra 30 minutes to make sure it was fully cooked. Uncertain why this occurred but praying it will be better next time :)

My cream cheese layer wasn't as thick as it is in the images, so I'd use 1.5 packs of cream cheese or maybe 2. But, the brownies were chewy and chocolately with a hint of peppermint (since I used peppermint extract instead of vanilla extract). Perfect just from the oven with a tall glass of ice cold milk!

I think the quality of this recipie absolutely depends on what type of brownie mix you use. I used a bargain generic mix to save money and they weren't that good. The topping part was excellent but the brownie itself suffered for my frugality. Next time I will try it with a better mix and I would definitely suggest the same for others trying this one.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I added 1 tsp espresso powder to brownie batter. I added 1 tsp espresso powder to brownie batter. I reduced sugar to 1/4c in cream cheese layer and increased vanilla to 1 tsp. I used chocolate chips as recommended. My family can't get enough of these. Delicious!

I have also made this recipe for decades as a previous rater said - it was included in a Philadelphia Cream Cheese Cookbook- and it has always been a hit. Chocolate chips or chocolate chunks work equally well, as does any recipe for cake-like brownies. My daughter remembers it from when I made it for her grammer school parties, and she is now a mother with her own child. This is a classic.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Oh YUM! Oh YUM! is all I can say. I made this for a dessert for Thanksgiving, and they were eaten up in no time at all. Will definitely make this dish again, and I did not make any changes.
