Make It

Tap or click steps to mark as complete

  • Preheat oven to 325°F. Beat cream cheese, sugar, butter and vanilla with electric mixer on medium speed until well blended. Add flour and baking soda; mix well.
  • Shape dough into equal number of 1/2-inch and 1-inch diameter balls. (You should have about 44 of each size ball.) Using 1 small and 1 large ball for each snowman, place balls, slightly overlapping, on ungreased baking sheet. Flatten to 1/4-inch thickness with bottom of glass dipped in additional flour. Repeat with remaining dough.
  • Bake 19 to 21 minutes or until lightly browned. Cool on wire rack. Sprinkle each snowman with sifted powdered sugar, if desired.

Special Extra

Place cookie dough on parchment-covered baking sheets to prevent cookies from sticking to pans and to help keep baking sheets clean between batches.

Size Wise

A serving of these cookies along with a glass of low-fat milk is sure to be a hit as an after school snack for your kids.

Special Extra

Decorate with decorating gels, colored sprinkles and nonpareils to resemble snowmen. Cut peanut butter cups in half. Place 1 candy half on top of each snowman for hat.

How to Soften Cream Cheese

Place completely unwrapped package of cream cheese on microwavable plate. Microwave on HIGH 10 to 15 seconds or until slightly softened.

I decided to try something new for Christmas cookies and made these in place of sugar cookies... They are so fast and easy to make, and SO delicious! I let the dough chill overnight and my children and I rolled it out and used cookie cutters instead of just doing the snowmen shapes shown. We put frosting and sprinkles on. They were a big hit!!!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from This recipe turns out really cute, but they are not met for traveling. This recipe turns out really cute, but they are not met for traveling. We took them to my cousin's house and the hats break if you use the peanut butter cup. I would not make these again. However, they do taste well and might work if you do not have to travel over the holidays.

Tonight I'm making another batch to put in my cookie plates for christmas. When you press down on the head place the glass below the top and you have a hat.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I love this recipe. I love this recipe. The cookies were very good and soft; which I love soft cookies. But the only thing it wasn't sweet enough for me so the second time I made it I use regular sugar instead of powder sugar. My own family like it and I will make over and over again.

We shaped them like snowmen, but they could be baked in single round shapes so they could be made throughout the year. I will make these again!
