The candy canes are cute, but they're really just for show. The serious peppermint flavor in this white chocolate cheesecake comes from the extract.

Ratings & Reviews

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This was outstanding. This was outstanding. I added way more peppermint extract than it called for - like 1.5 teaspoons. I made more crumb crust and put it directly in the 13X9 pan (without foil), sprayed it with Pam and sort of brought the crumbs up on the sides of the pan. Right before serving it, we crushed up candy canes and sprinkled them on top and served the Kool Whip on top of that. If you want things to look perfect though, you might not want to do that because the red in the candy cane runs after a while. We thought it was pretty but you might not think so... I will make this cheesecake again for sure.

This cheesecake was so good and was a very nice change from the norm of using fruit or chocolate. I increased the peppermint extract to 1 teaspoon because you could barely taste it. Also, I used crushed candy canes all over the whole thing, rather than a mini one on each piece. Will definitely make this again. Very nice for the holidays.

I felt it needed a little more peppermint flavouring. Also, I found it needed quite a bit more than 40 mins. baking time. Everyone did remark how light it was. All in all, I felt it was a hit at a Christmas party. Gloria

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Thanks for the tips. Thanks for the tips. I increased the peppermint extract to generous tsp and topped with crushed candy canes. They did indeed bleed by the end of the night so top just before serving. It tasted great, and was very impressive at the company party!

I used a round spring form pan instead of the 9x13 and I didn't put a candy cane on each piece. If you are going to make it round I would reccommend cooking an extra 5-10 mins. It was done but could have been a bit firmer. GREAT taste though!

Made this last night as a test batch before I made it for a dessert contest at my company holiday party next week. It is delicious! I will double the peppermint extract - I don't taste it as strong as I expected/hoped. Joyce - IN
