what you need

pkg. (10.75 oz. each) frozen pound cake, thawed

cups thawed COOL WHIP Whipped Topping, divided

Blue food coloring

Decorations:

OREO Cookies

rolls ring-shaped hard candies

1/4

cup JET-PUFFED Miniature Marshmallows

BARNUM'S ANIMALS Crackers

COMET Cup

JET-PUFFED Marshmallow

1/2

cup cocoa sweetened rice cereal

pieces black licorice (for cage bars and train track)

Make It

LINE up cakes on large tray or serving platter to resemble cars in a train.

CUT a 2-inch-thick crosswise slice off front cake; place at back end of the first cake to resemble train engine. Repeat with last cake, placing the removed cake slice in the middle of the last cake to resemble caboose.

TINT whipped topping with food coloring as desired. Use to frost cakes. Add decorations as desired. Store leftover cake in refrigerator.

Get the kids involved in decorating this colorful cake. Give each child some cereal, cookies and candies to place on the cake. But make sure to have them wash their hands first!

Note

If you do not have a large enough tray or platter for the train, use a large cutting board wrapped in foil.

Create a snowy atmosphere for this decorative cake by sprinkling the serving platter with BAKER'S ANGEL FLAKE Coconut.

It was a super cute and fun idea. I loved doing it with the kids and seeing everyones reaction when we took it it christmas dinner. Its now a tradition!

I made this cake for my sons second birthday. Everyone was so amazed by it and want to know where I got the idea! I did a few things different for my son. Instead of animal crackers I put plastic animals on it so he could play with them later and I forgot the ice cream cone so I used the #2 candle instead!

It was very easy to make but I do not have a big enough fridge to keep the cool whip cold after decorating the cake.

I made it for my 8year old grandson's birthday, it was a great hit. Josh thought his granny was so smart, and wonderful. I just ate up all that love. thanks so much

I loved this project! It took about an hour and a half to prepare, but it was incredibly simple. I made it for a Christmas get-together, so I alternated red and green Lifesavers for wheels; I also used holiday colors to tint the frosting. Not only did the kids love it, their parents were impressed that I went to so much "trouble." If they only knew!

I have a son with a December birthday...it was a wonderful family activity. We made it in primary colors using canned frosting, colored gummy lifesavers, etc.....he LOVED it! And so did my older boys.

i didnt have time right now to make this , but sometime this year, i will just to see if it turns out the way it looks. what a cute idea! this looks like a fun cake to make and eat---thanks---merry xmas to all.
