Food Facts

There are lots of delicious varieties of apples, but not all are ideal for cooking. Try using firmer red apples that will hold their shape when cooked, such as Fuji, Gala or Cortland apples.

Substitute apple cider, beer or chicken broth for the wine.

Prepare using 1/4 tsp. dried thyme leaves.
