Technically, it's just a pork sandwich. Flavor-wise, it's an extravaganza—made with pineapple juice, grated gingerroot and minced fresh garlic.

This did not work well for me...it got dried out on the grill, and then when it was done, didn't seem sweet enough or like something was missing. We added more barbeque sauce and sugar and they were better after that. Might make again, but modify the recipe a little, and maybe use a slow cooker instead of the grill.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Delicious! Delicious!!! Made it in a slow cooker, also. Slow cooked it for about 4 hours, pulled the meat off the bone, returned it to the slow cooker, finished cooking it, & added a little more barbecue sauce (Open Pit barbecue sauce) at the end. It was a huge hit.

I left the A-1 out (didn't think I would like it) and doubled the ingredients to drizzle extra when the meat was done. I slow cooked mine in the oven at 275 for 7 hrs. Tender as can be & the extra sauce was a hit!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from We really like this. We really like this. I cooked in the crockpot. I double the sauce ingredients and added the A1 during the cooking process instead of at the end. Cooked on slow for 8 hours, shredding after 6 hours. Good stuff.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from The pork comes out very tender. The pork comes out very tender. We put it on the grill but not directly over the coals. It took about 4 hours but had a very good smoked taste. We used mequite wood instead of charcoal.
