  • Heat oven to 375°F.
  • Beat butter, sugars, dry pudding mix and vanilla in large bowl with mixer until well blended. Add eggs and baking soda; mix well. Gradually beat in flour. Stir in chocolate.
  • Drop teaspoonfuls of dough, 2 inches apart, onto baking sheets.
  • Bake 8 to 10 min. or until lightly browned. Cool 3 min. on baking sheets. Remove to wire racks. Cool completely.

Note

When baking cookies in high-altitude areas, bake at 375°F for 9 to 11 min. or until golden brown.

Variation

Prepare dough as directed; spread onto bottom of 13x9-inch pan sprayed with cooking spray. Bake at 375°F for 20 to 25 min. or until golden brown. Cool before cutting into bars. Makes 24 servings.

Special Extra

Place cookie dough on parchment-covered baking sheets to prevent cookies from sticking to pans and to help keep baking sheets clean between batches.

Special Extra

Bake and cool cookies as directed. Drizzle with melted BAKER'S Semi-Sweet Chocolate. Let stand until chocolate is firm.

Special Extra

Prepare dough as directed adding 1 cup dried cranberries and 1/2 cup chopped PLANTERS Pecans with the chocolate morsels.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This has become my favorite cookie recipe and I have a lot of cookie recipes...lol. This has become my favorite cookie recipe and I have a lot of cookie recipes...lol. My family (including my in-laws) request these cookies all the time. So easy to make and so delicious. I've made them with vanilla pudding once and they were good, but everyone's favorite is with the chocolate pudding mix which I've made at least 6 times since Christmas! I also add walnuts...they're always a hit! These cookies do get bigger as they bake and I get between 6-7 dozen every time :) I only leave them in the oven 8 minutes and they're ready. It's kinda hard to tell by their appearance because they don't look ready, but just pay attention to the timer and you'll do fine :)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I made this for my step-mom for her b-day last month. I made this for my step-mom for her b-day last month. She loves a lot of chocolate. So I made w/ large chocolate chips & chocolate pudding. I cooked for the 9 minutes. They don't look done, but they are. Everytime I visit my parents they ask me to bring these. I am out of chocolate and ready to try some other pudding flavors and chip flavors. But overall, these are the most moist cookies I have ever made. Very good...just doesn't quite beat out my 7 layer bars...but close.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from OH MY GOSH! OH MY GOSH!!! These are sooo good. These are the moistest cookies I have ever tasted, the pudding has to be it. I used sugar-free chocolate fudge pudding w/ chocolate and peanut butter chips. I also used Smart Balance Lite Buttery Spread instead of regular butter and I used 1 egg and 1/4 cup egg substitute, also I used Splenda Brown Sugar Baking Blend and you cannot tell the difference. Yum Yum...I can't wait to try other flavors of pudding.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This is the best chocolate chip cookie recipe i have ever made! This is the best chocolate chip cookie recipe i have ever made! Im the kind of person who likes soft cookie (like most people) so i eat as many as i can in the first day before they get hard, not with this recipe. These stay soft it took us about a week to eat them all and the last one out of the container was still soft. I shared them with my family and my dad has already told my mom she has to change her recipe.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from These cookies are to die for. These cookies are to die for. Went through all my recipes & threw all of my Chocolate Chip Cookie recipe's away, except for this one. Will NEVER make any other recipe. The only changes I made was to add less than an 8th of a teaspoon of Baking Powder & put my cookie dough on a parchment lined pan. They turned out so terrific, I could not stop eating them!! Would rate this as a ten if I could.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from DELICIOUS! DELICIOUS!! This is the BEST cookie recipe EVER! I always had problems with my cookies starting out nice and soft, but by the next day they would be hard and crunchy. This recipe makes the softest cookies that stay soft for days! I have tested this recipe on friends, co-workers, and family and they LOVE them. I will never make cookies any other way! Try this recipe, you won't regret it:)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from These cookies were a big hit at Thanksgiving and I plan to make them again for Christmas. These cookies were a big hit at Thanksgiving and I plan to make them again for Christmas. To me they tasted just as good as the prepackaged kind you get at the grocery store but for some reason I expected them to taste better which they did not. If you need a recipe for a large batch this is your best bet for the money that it cost for the ingredients. Overall a good easy recipe.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This is a great recipe! This is a great recipe! I made the vanilla with chocolate chunks and did a chocolate pudding and white chocolate chip recipe too! Very easy and quick to make and taste really, really good! They only made 4 dozen though and I use teaspoons...might have been able to get 5 doz, but there's no way they make 7. Am looking forward to trying other pudding combinations!
