Pumpkin Spice Frosted Snack Bars

This cake is excellent. Pumpkin-y, spicy, and SO moist. Highly recommended -- great for company or just a treat to have around in the fall months. :-)

What You Need

pkg. (2-layer size) spice cake mix

can (15 oz.) pumpkin

cup MIRACLE WHIP Dressing

eggs

pkg. (8 oz.) PHILADELPHIA Cream Cheese, softened

1/4

cup butter, softened

Tbsp. milk

tsp. vanilla

pkg. (16 oz.) powdered sugar (about 4 cups)

Make It

HEAT oven to 350°F.

BEAT first 4 ingredients in large bowl with mixer until well blended. Pour into 13x9-inch pan sprayed with cooking spray.

BAKE 32 to 35 min. or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool completely in pan.

BEAT cream cheese, butter, milk and vanilla in large bowl with mixer until well blended. Gradually add sugar, beating after each addition until well blended. Spread over cooled cake.

Variation

Prepare using 15x10x1-inch pan and decreasing the baking time to 20 to 22 min. or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.

Storing Cream Cheese Frosted Cakes

Cakes filled and frosted with a cream cheese icing should be stored in the refrigerator.

I wish the recipe would state to use the cake mix dry, & not to make as directed on the box...I read another review where someone else messed it up as well! I read the follow up from KRAFT kitchens wrong. I thought "HUM" I would have just followed the ingredients listed on the recipe. SO much for speed reading! You could say it's my fault, I agree somewhat however, if we are questioning it, I think it should be corrected. thus, 3 stars

I thought this was pretty good...I expected more spice though. I wish i knew how I could spice it up to my liking...I may have to do some experimenting. I though the icing was just okay. Maybe next time I'll try a different icing recipe. Overall, it was good but just needs that something else...

The cake was very moist and that was the best part. To my family and me there was not a lot of spice when made as is. I didn't alter this recipe at all. The frosting is not good at all with this!

This cake is out of this world amazing! Plus it's really easy to make. I don't consider myself that great of a baker, but it turned out perfectly the first time. Absolutely delicious...a recipe I'll make again and again.

YUMMY!!! My daughter, niece and I made this for a family dinner. It was easy to make and it tasted sooo good. Everyone loved it even my daughter who didn't ever want to try anything pumpkin. We are making it again for Thanksgiving.

We like this recipe but we use mayonaise instead because we do not like the taste of Miracle Whip. We also add chocolate chips to the batter. The kids love it!
