  • Heat broiler.
  • Place bread slices in single layer on baking sheet. Broil 2 min. on each side or until golden brown on both sides.
  • Mix dressing and cheese until blended. Reserve 1/4 cup dressing mixture; brush remaining dressing mixture onto toast slices.
  • Combine tomatoes, onions and reserved dressing mixture; spoon onto toast slices just before serving.

Special Extra

Stir 1/4 cup finely chopped fresh basil leaves into tomato mixture before spooning onto toast slices as directed.

Substitute

Substitute 2 drained cans (14.5 oz. each) no-salt-added diced tomatoes for the chopped fresh tomatoes.

Storing Tomatoes

Vine-ripened tomatoes are very perishable. And since they tend to lose flavor when stored in the refrigerator, store them stem-sides down, at room temperature away from direct sunlight and use within a few days after purchase.

I used Kraft's Roasted Red Pepper dressing because I had it for another recipe, and it was great. I cut the recipe down for just me & my husband, but I think we could have eated 12 pieces per person. It was delicious!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from VERY GOOD! VERY GOOD! I couldn't find the exact Good Seasons dressing it called for but found one with Garlic in it and it turned out perfect. I also added about 2 oz. of crumbled feta to it and it was SO YUMMY! I will definately make this again!
