  • Add remaining ingredients; stir. Bring to boil; cover. Simmer on low heat 12 to 14 min. or until rice is cooked, stirring occasionally.

Serving Suggestion

Serve with corn bread and a side of hot cooked green beans.

Special Extra

For a spicier flavor, add 1/4 tsp. crushed red pepper. Or, prepare with 1 can (10 oz.) diced tomatoes and green chiles.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from My husband and I liked it a lot. My husband and I liked it a lot. I served this for my daughter, her husband, and my 3 grandkids. The kids only ate the chicken and smokies. They all thought it was too spicy, but it was barely spicy at all. I wouldn't waste it on them again, but will make it for just the 2 of us.

Since my husband doesn't like sausage or green peppers, I made it while he was out of town. Delicious!! Not too spicy, which is perfect for my 3 kids (all under 5).

I've made this twice, and each time I've made it I've been told it's the best Jambalaya my guests have eaten. The second time I made it I added a few shrimp to it. I usually serve it with cornbread, people can't get enough. Next time I'll double the recipe.

I like it better without the bacon (less greasy) but my husband loves it either way. It is easy and filling and makes a lot. Its good heated up the next day too. Definitely a keeper!
