This easy casserole recipe was made better for you with a few small changes. We used bacon instead of sausage, replaced some of the whole eggs with egg whites, and used fat-free milk and KRAFT 2% Milk Shredded Cheddar Cheese instead of the full-fat products. These changes save you 110 calories and 10g of fat, including 3.5g of saturated fat, per serving.
Prepare using whole wheat bread cubes.
Buy only refrigerated eggs with clean unbroken shells. Open carton and gently move each egg to make sure it is not stuck to the carton because of an unseen crack. Check the Sell-By Date on the carton. Store eggs in their original carton on an inside shelf of the refrigerator as soon as possible after purchasing. Avoid placing near foods with strong odors that can easily be absorbed. For best quality, use within 4 weeks.
The Cheddar cheese in this morning casserole is rich in calcium.

I forgot that I also would make this with a turkey or chicken sausage
The serving sizes were sort of small, I made 2 9 inch. sq. pans of this, so there would be enough. The kids ate more than one small "regular" serving. Tasted good, and will make them again though.
I added a yellow pepper and an extra half cup of bread and I should have added another egg or two because it didn't have a lot of egg taste. It was mostly bread. I couldn't taste the cheese either. Bland is the best word to describe it, next time I'll add more of the ingredients that provide taste.
