cups cold milk

envelope DREAM WHIP Whipped Topping Mix

pkg. (4-serving size) JELL-O Instant Pudding, any flavor

Make It

BEAT milk, whipped topping mix and pudding mixes in deep narrow-bottom bowl with electric mixer on low speed until blended.

BEAT on high 4 to 6 minutes or until mixture forms soft peaks. Makes about 3 cups or enough to frost 2 (8-or 9-inch) layers or 13x9-inch cake. Store frosted cake in refrigerator. For high altitude areas, reduce beating time to 2 to 4 minutes.

This recipe is so easy to make that I started making it when I was 10 years old! It is so much better than a store bought jar of frosting or even frostings used at bakerys because those have so much sugar and are so sickly sweet you can hardly taste the dessert its topped on. This frosting is the perfect compliment to any dessert. Try cream cheese flavor on top of thick brownies. YUM

Really good and definitely easy to prepare. It's also a really versatile recipe since you can try different combos (yellow cupcakes/choc frosting, choc cupcakes/vanilla frosting, strawberry cupcakes/white choc frosting, etc.) Great for at-home, but probably not the best for taking places in the summer (it'll melt everywhere!)

This recipe is great. I have been using it for about 20 years. The trick for getting it to mix up a little thicker is to put your mixing bowl and beaters in your freezer for about thirty minutes before you begin. A lso try a couple of spoonfuls of peanut butter in it. My kids request it all the time.

What am I doing wrong? I can't get this recipe to work for me. The "icing" just tastes like pudding. I can't get it think enough to even resemble icing. I think it would be great, so I'm looking for any advice. thx

I have been using this recipe for at least 30 years and have never had anything but praise and requests for the recipe. I use various Jello pudding to compliment the cake. My family's favorite is dark chocolate cake with chocolate dream whip pudding frosting. I suggest you put the recipe on the dream whip packaging like you use to do way back when.
