I substituted lean ground turkey and added a can of rinsed & drained black beans. We also used Iceberg lettuce and broken-up taco shells because we had them on-hand. EVERYONE wanted seconds, even the picky 6 year old! Thanks! We will FOR SURE make this again!

I used iceberg lettuce and crushed Fritos. We used sour cream on top instead of Ranch dressing. I would have definitely put sliced avocados on the top if I had them on hand; will do next time. Also added sliced black olives. It was quite tasty and fun to eat!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So quick and easy and it tastes great. So quick and easy and it tastes great. We change out the romaine for whatever bag salad we like at the time (usually spring mix). Usually add some red onion for a little something extra. I usually try to at least use low fat Ranch dressing if not 2% cheese also and you can feel pretty good eating it even with taco salads bad reputation.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This is a family favorite in my house. This is a family favorite in my house. We mix it up with different ingredients each time. I like to use corn chips instead of tortilla chips and I add a can of (drained) black beans. I make a "southwest" dressing by mixing the Ranch dressing with an equal amount of salsa or by combining equal parts mayo and taco sauce. YUM!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic recipe! Fantastic recipe! Used ground turkey instead of ground beef, used fat free ranch dressing and reduced fat cheddar cheese. Wonderful easy recipe that both my boyfriend and I enjoy very much! Great for a quick weeknight dinner. Next time I will make the ground turkey ahead of time to save time during the week!

I changed it with 1/2 lettuce, using salsa instead of salad dressing, added dollops of fat free sour cream to the top. Added chopped onion and cilantro. MUCH BETTER!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This was a big hit with the entire family! This was a big hit with the entire family! My favorite part was the way that all the ingredients were combined on the plate, rather than in a large serving dish (like other taco salads). This way, if there are leftovers, they don't get soggy! Yea!! The ranch dressing was a delicious change.
