I actually didn't make this exact recipe. I didn't have strawberries, or vanilla pudding. I had banana pudding, and banana's. I followed the directions just as it states. I then crushed up vanilla wafers, and added that to the top of the finished product. Very easy, to make, fast, cheap, and delish tasting. My kids LOVED it!
It's good - just MUCH thicker than I was expecting. Instead of pudding, I would refer to this as a custard.
An economical and lowfat alternative for the milk would be to substitute evaporated fat free milk(diluted). It can be used with any pudding recipe.
