Make It

Tap or click steps to mark as complete

  • Toss coleslaw blend with peppers and dressing in large bowl.
  • Refrigerate 1 hour.
  • Top with cheese and bacon just before serving.

How to Bake Bacon

Here's an easier (and less messy) way to cook bacon, especially when cooking for a crowd. Separate bacon, then place in a single layer on a rimmed baking sheet. Bake at 350ºF for 10 to 12 min. or until crisp, turning slices over after 6 min. Thick-sliced bacon will take about 18 min. When cooking 1 lb. of bacon, you may need to use two baking sheets.

Serving Suggestion

Serve with hot grilled chicken breasts and corn on the cob.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from I can understand bacon with blue cheese and I can understand blue cheese with cole slaw mix, but... I can understand bacon with blue cheese and I can understand blue cheese with cole slaw mix, but bacon with cole slaw just seemed odd and made the dish cost more. I can understand the red pepper for the color and texture, but I would be more inclined to add some shredded red cabbage, red onions, and/or radishes if that didn't offer enough red, maybe a sprinkle of paprika.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from If your a blue cheese lover -- you will LOVE this recipe! If your a blue cheese lover -- you will LOVE this recipe! :) I prefer lite house blue cheese dressing -- its sold in the refrigerated section & available in low fat as well. I would like to try this recipe with the lite house blue cheese vinaigrette dressing too! If you make for a group - double it!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This was excellent! This was excellent! I made it for a picnic and everyone loved it - especially the guys! I tried it because my family loves blue cheese - and this did not disappoint! I made another batch the next day because the picnic batch disappeared so quickly I hardly had a chance to taste it!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This is fabulous! This is fabulous! I have made it for a Memorial Day family gathering and several other times. My husband wants it at least once a week. So good and easy. I will probably never make cole slaw with normal slaw dressing again. This is the best.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from I love blue cheese and I love cloe slaw, but this combination was not good. I love blue cheese and I love cloe slaw, but this combination was not good. The blue cheese taste was too strong. It would be better with just coleslaw dressing and blue cheese crumbles.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This was very good. This was very good. I have never tried to make any type of cole slaw and basically just started eating it two years ago. I didn't alter a thing. Your recipe was perfect.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Something this easy is so good. Something this easy is so good. I used a little extra dressing; also used precooked bacon which made this even easier. Went well with grilled Carne Asada.
