This simple skillet dinner has all the flavor of a slow-cooked roast, complete with tender apples, without the fuss.

what you need

 pork chops, about 3/4 inch thick

medium onion, sliced

cups sliced mushrooms

Tbsp. KRAFT Balsamic Vinaigrette Dressing

cups instant white rice, uncooked

can (10-1/2 oz.) condensed chicken broth
1
 broth can water
2
 apples, sliced
1
tsp. dried thyme leaves

Make It

SPRAY large nonstick skillet with cooking spray. Add chops; cook on medium-high heat 4 min. on each side or until browned.

ADD onions, mushrooms and dressing; cook an additional 3 min.

STIR in rice, broth, water, apples and thyme. Reduce heat to medium; simmer 15 min. or until rice is tender and liquid is absorbed.

Substitute
For variety, substitute instant brown rice for the white rice. After heating through, cover; remove from heat and let stand 5 min.
How to Substitute Dried Herbs for Fresh
In most recipes, a dried herb can be substituted for fresh but some conversions are necessary. As a general rule, you can use 1 tsp. of the dried herb in place of 1 Tbsp. of a fresh herb.
