lb. extra lean ground beef

pkg. (6 oz.) STOVE TOP Stuffing Mix for Chicken

medium onion, finely chopped

egg whites

cups water, divided

Tbsp. oil

1/2

cup KRAFT Original Barbecue Sauce

tsp. Worcestershire sauce

1/4

tsp. black pepper

Make It

MIX meat, stuffing mix, onion, egg whites and 1-1/2 cups of the water until well blended. Shape into 8 (5-inch) patties.

HEAT oil in large nonstick skillet on medium heat. Add patties; cook 6 min. on each side or until cooked through and golden brown on both sides. Drain fat from skillet.

COMBINE barbecue sauce, remaining 1/2 cup water, the Worcestershire sauce and pepper; pour evenly over patties. Bring to boil. Reduce heat to low; cover. Cook an additional 5 min. or until sauce is slightly thickened and heated through.

Substitute

Substitute ground chicken, ground pork or thawed frozen LOUIS RICH Pure Ground Turkey for the ground beef.

YUMMO!!! I had to make it in 2 different pans --- could not fit all 8 in 1. I also doubled the sauce for the top. (3) 9 yr olds said it was DELICIOUS!!! Served it over mashed potatoes.

i really give this recipe 3 1/2 stars. my husband likes it alot and i think it's okay. the plus side is that it's super easy to make.

Just a great basic recipe to start with! Works on its own and leaves room for individual tweeks! Yea! Soooo..I used bread crumbs instead of stuffing mix, I used (No cholestarol,no fat) liquid eggs. (1/4 cap equals 1 egg) As for the gravy, if your into bar b que sauce, its great too but for a change I tried it with my own home version of brown grave. You know, beef broth, spices and thickener. That was great too. Its quick, its easy and ohhhhh soooo tasty any way you go. Definetlly a keeper!

This is one of my kids favorite!! They don't like mushrooms so the traditional salisbury steak they won't eat and this is a great alternative. I have even done it with ground turkey and it turns out great. I have also used bread crumbs when I don't have the stuffing mix. I leave out the onions because the kids don't eat those either. I always double to triple the sauce so that we can put it over the mashed potatoes! Yummy, Fast and inexpensive to make! LOVE IT!!!
