Cool meat mixture completely. Place in resealable freezer-weight plastic bag or 4 small freezer containers; place buns in resealable freezer-weight plastic bag. Freeze up to 3 months. Thaw meat mixture and buns in refrigerator overnight. When ready to serve, reheat meat mixture in small saucepan on medium heat, stirring frequently.
Substitute lean ground turkey for the ground beef.

This is my new favorite recipe! I tweaked it just a bit.
I used half an onion, a celery stalk (instead of a green pepper) and 8oz of Velveeta. (It's almost too saucy with that much cheese.) I also used honey hickory smoke bbq sauce. That made it a little sweeter.
Love this flavor combo!!!
