what you need

pkg. (2-layer size) yellow cake mix

cups milk

pkg. (4-serving size each) JELL-O Chocolate Instant Pudding

1/3

cup sugar

1/4

to 1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon

Make It

PREHEAT oven to 350°F. Prepare cake batter as directed on package; pour into greased 13x9-inch baking pan.

POUR milk and 2 cups water into large bowl. Add dry pudding mixes, sugar and cinnamon. Beat with electric mixer on low speed 1 to 2 minutes or until well blended. Pour over batter in pan.

BAKE 1 hour or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cut into 24 squares to serve. Or, spoon into serving dishes. Serve warm.

You must be kidding! Just made this for my son's birthday and ended up with an oven swimming in pudding. It's way too much for the pan size. Are those the right amounts of water and milk for the puddings? Something is very wrong with this recipe. I don't believe anyone actually tested it before-hand.

Mine came out as a goopy mess. The cake did not set up and it was hard to get out of the baking dish. It tasted fine, but I could not serve it to company.

I rate it a high Four Stars! I made the recipe just exactly as it said on the directions, and it was really good. The only thing that I recommend is that you do not fill the pan more than 1/3 of the way full because it will rise. (And maybe line the oven with foil so that in case it bubbles over,cleanup will be fast.) But over all it is a great dessert for those cold nights at home, paired with a cup of coffee.

I made this recipe using a lemon cake mix and pudding, HOWEVER, I used only 2 cups of milk for the pudding. It turned out fantastic! I think you could probably use only 1 box of pudding and 1 cup of milk and it would also turn out good. Next I think I'll try chocolate cake and vanilla pudding and it will be like Boston cream pie. I did not use any cinnamon.

IF I made this again, I would use less cinnamon, less water, and serve cold.

I made this recipe this past weekend. I agree with the others how the cake turned out on the top. I do not believe the directions are correct as the pudding was running over the pan like lava. Has anyone else had this trouble?! I want to make this again, but do not want to have this run all over my oven! HELP!

I followed the directions carefully, and it didn't work!! I had a pretty normal cake floating on top of chocolate goo that kinda had a custard tinge to it...I just ate the cake off the top of the goo and threw the goo away!!
