Keep a dish of prepared maple butter in the refrigerator so it is ready to use for quick breakfasts and snacks instead of butter and syrup. To prepare the maple butter, place 1/4 cup (1/2 stick) butter in medium bowl; let stand at room temperature until softened. Stir in 1/4 cup room-temperature maple-flavored syrup. Beat until well blended. Cover and refrigerate until ready to use. When preparing the Sausage & Maple Stackers, spread each of the warmed pancakes with about 1/2 tsp. of the maple butter before stacking 4 pancakes and 1 sausage patty for each stacker. Makes about 1/3 cup, enough for about eight stackers or 4 servings.
Prepare as directed, substituting 2 tsp. peanut butter, jam or honey for the 1 tsp. butter.
