Sausage and peppers—long a favorite pairing—come together once again with delicious results in this 30-minute pasta dish.

What You Need

cups  rotini pasta, uncooked
lb.  Italian sausage, casings removed
 red onion, sliced
 each red and yellow pepper, cut into strips
cup  KRAFT Sun Dried Tomato Vinaigrette Dressing made with Extra Virgin Olive Oil
cup  KRAFT Shredded Italian* Five Cheese with a TOUCH OF PHILADELPHIA

Make It

COOK pasta as directed on package, omitting salt.

MEANWHILE, crumble sausage into large skillet sprayed with cooking spray. Add onions; cook on medium heat 8 min., stirring frequently. Stir in peppers; cook 4 to 6 min. or until sausage is evenly browned, stirring frequently. Add dressing; mix well. Simmer on medium-low heat 8 to 10 min. or until peppers are crisp-tender.

DRAIN pasta, reserving 1/2 cup cooking water. Add pasta and reserved water to sausage mixture. Stir in 1/2 cup cheese; sprinkle with remaining cheese.

Substitute 2 cups roasted red pepper strips for the fresh peppers.
Italian Sausage & Tomato Rotini
Omit red pepper and 1/2 cup cooking water. Increase sausage to 1 lb. Add 1 undrained 14-1/2-oz. can diced tomatoes with the peppers. Continue as directed.
