Savory Bruschetta

Take olive-studded cream cheese and Parmesan; spread on toasted bread. Top with tomatoes; bake. Add fresh basil and behold: a tasty twist on bruschetta.

What You Need

1/4

cup olive oil

clove garlic, minced

loaf (1 lb.) French bread, cut in half lengthwise

pkg. (8 oz.) PHILADELPHIA Cream Cheese, softened

Tbsp. KRAFT Grated Parmesan Cheese

Tbsp. chopped pitted black olives

cup chopped plum tomatoes

1/4

cup chopped fresh basil

Make It

PREHEAT oven to 400°F. Mix oil and garlic; spread onto cut surfaces of bread. Bake 8 to 10 minutes or until lightly browned. Cool.

MIX cream cheese and Parmesan cheese with electric mixer on medium speed until blended. Stir in olives.

SPREAD toasted bread halves with cream cheese mixture; top with tomatoes. Cut into 24 slices to serve. Sprinkle with basil.

For anyone who likes to go camping this makes an excellent out of the ordinary treat. Just grill the French bread instead of baking. It's a nice switch from the usual camping foods when added with a steak and some stuffed mushroom caps!

Yummy! I seeded my tomatoes, so it didn't get soggy. I also used bagette bread cut in slices instead of French bread cut lengthwise. It made for crispier toasts. Great flavor. (I've used dried basil in a pinch and it works out fine - I just let the tomatoe mixture stand for a while to marry the flavors.)

Too soggy. Made it for a bridal shower and it was the least favorite item for everyone who attended

This was incredibly easy but my guestswere amazed at my culinary expertise! I put a little red onion, a clove of garlic, and a splash of olive oil in with the tomatoes to spice it up a bit! I will definitely make this recipe again!

This is a new family favorite at our house! Although I omitted the olives, & added a few tablespoons of Italian dressing & chopped onion to the tomato mixture. It's delicious with or without the cream cheese spread.

This was the best bruschetta I've ever tasted..I wish i could eat it every day! It's great for entertaining or just eating with some salad. I love it!

This is the best appetizer and it would also be perfect for a buffet style dinner party. Makes a great presentation and very festive. Tip: A great variation is to not use french bread and substitute with thin pre-sliced Italian bread.
