Prepare as directed, using KRAFT Light Mayo Reduced Fat Mayonnaise, MIRACLE WHIP Light Dressing or MIRACLE WHIP Dressing; your favorite KRAFT Shredded Cheese; and/or substituting 1 cup thinly sliced radishes for the chopped green peppers.
Add a layer of sliced hard-cooked eggs; cooked cleaned fresh shrimp or frozen cooked shrimp, thawed and drained; or thinly sliced imitation crabmeat.
Reserve 1 bacon slice for garnish; cook until crisp. Crumble over salad just before serving.

This is a classic. My Grandma always made it for Easter dinner. I like to add matchstick carrots for color and flavor, as well as chopped hard boiled eggs. If you are short on time buy bagged salad mix, and precooked bacon and just add the toppings!
People can tell the difference between mayos. I they're on a special diet they should use their own mayo for that. Otherwise, use your favorite mayo. My first attempt to make this, I lightly sealed each layer of veggies with mayo and it drowned it. Not good. Now I know that only the top gets sealed with mayo. A big hit. I'm asked to make it but I don't think people like veggies enough to make it this often because the last party they hardly touched my 7 layer salad. It's still a winner!
I really like this recipe. I never think there will be enough Mayo, but it does works great when the flavors meld together.
