  • Heat dressing in large skillet on medium-high heat. Add bell peppers, garlic, mustard and crushed red pepper; cook and stir 3 min.
  • Add shrimp; cook 5 to 8 min. or until shrimp turn pink. Spoon into serving dish; cool 10 min.
  • Refrigerate 1 hour or until chilled. Sprinkle with nuts and cilantro before serving.

How to Devein Raw Shrimp

To devein raw shrimp, first remove the outer shell. Then make a lengthwise shallow cut on the outer curve of the shrimp to expose the black vein. Loosen the vein with the tip of a sharp knife, then pull with your fingers to remove.

How to Purchase and Store Raw Shrimp

Fresh shrimp should be firm, moist and translucent and should smell like the sea. Avoid those with black spots and any trace of ammonia odor. They can vary in color from grayish-green to pinkish-tan to light pink. Place in a bowl (if wrapped in plastic, punch a few holes in the plastic) and store in the coldest part of the refrigerator up to 1 day.


The shrimp mixture can be refrigerated up to 24 hours before serving topped with nuts and cilantro as directed.

Toss torn mixed salad greens with cut-up fresh vegetables. Top with chilled cooked shrimp mixture, nuts and cilantro.
