I made this as an alternative to regular spaghetti and wanted to try something that didn't have a ton of ratings but had good ones. Followed the recipe exactly. We ate all of it so it is not bad but I always ask my husband when I make something if he would eat it again and he said no. I think he is unsure about the BOCA crumbles. I would say it is good to try and see if you like it. Definitely double the recipe if you are feeding more than 2. Really it could be tight for feeding 2 if you are big eaters.

I used whole-wheat penne, and cooked it as follows: Bring 1 cup water & 1 cup pasta to a boil in a large skillet, reduce heat to medium-low and simmer for 12 minutes. Pour off the small amount of water that remains. Then add other ingredients & simmer about 5 minutes. That way, I could cook everything without dirtying my large pasta pot and a strainer. Also, I used dried basil instead of fresh. This was so easy and tasty! I'm sure I will make it many times.

I actually followed the recipe, and it turned out well...for those that are altering it, you really shouldn't rate it since you aren't much help to the people that actually want a review of the recipe. Make sense? Sorry, it is just annoying!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very simple and fast. Very simple and fast. I substituted the BOCA meat for extra lean ground beef, and it was very good. I made this recipe for me while making the traditional sauce for my family. They all ended up eating mine and asking for it again.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from This recipe was pretty good, and easy to make. This recipe was pretty good, and easy to make. However, it was a little dry. Next time, I will try and add a can of tomatoe paste to the tomatoe mixture to add a little more sauce. Overall, it was pretty good, though.
