I followed this recipe to a T and was very disappointed at the amount of liquid in the bottom of the pan! I used the chive & onion cream cheese and it looked like clabbered milk on top, not appealing at all! It definitely did not need all the onion. The taste was good but the recipe would definitely need some adjustments to fit my personal taste. Was so hoping it would turn out looking like the picture but was disappointed that it did not..what did I do wrong?

I made this recipe without bacon, and it was pretty good, but next time I think I will add more cheese (maybe to the cream cheese, milk, chicken broth mixture) to make it creamier and a bit thicker. The cream cheese, milk, chicken broth mixture didn't have a whole lot of flavor, but the potatoes on top with the cheese on them tasted great.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from This came together in 5 minutes and was delicious. This came together in 5 minutes and was delicious. So easy for a weeknight, since the oven did all the work. I did use 2 cups of cheese to top at the end. The cream cheese did not melt entirely and curdled a bit, but was covered up by the cheddar so it did not matter. This was also very good the next day.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This was really yummy! This was really yummy! I used regular cream cheese, left out the bacon, and used just plain shard shredded cheddar. I layered the cheese in between layers of onion and potato so there was cheese throughout. VERY tasty! Will def make again, and probably keep leaving out the bacon since it was great without it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent! Excellent! This is the first time I've me scalloped potatoes and it came out great! I did add a touch of salt and pepper, but that's my own thing. Easy recipe. I never pay attention to the prep time, if you enjoy cooking - you don't get concerned with prep time.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from We made this for Easter and were disappointed. We made this for Easter and were disappointed. There was to much onion and they were soupy even after extra cooking time. No one really liked them. If I made them again, I would chop up less onion and mix it in with the potatoes. I would also cook them longer.

I had no problems with the cream cheese being curdled. I also added salt and pepper to each layer of potatoes. It was a favorite of all our guests and tasted wonderful.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I loved it. I loved it. I had to change some items because I didn't have exactly what was needed. Used regular cream cheese. Put in chives and onion powder. Used only Monterey Jack cheese at end. It turned out fantastic!!!! Will definitely make again.
