Rated 5 out of 5 by from this is one of our staples! this is one of our staples! i take the chicken out of the freezer in the morning, cover w/ the dressing in the freezer bag and when i get home from work, cover w/ breading and bake! we often use boneless tenders which are easier for the kids to eat (the kids ALWAYS clean their plates too, which never happens!) and this makes a perfect picnic chicken as well...my husband says he likes it cold just as much as warm. and when we do have leftovers, we slice it into thin strips and make wrap sandwiches for lunch the next day. one quick thing i've learned...use the extra crispy or (oven fry brand). the regular or generic shake n bake just isn't as good. although I have sucess "cutting" the crumbs w/ seasoned bread crumbs to make it go a little farther.

My son absolutely puts Ranch dressing on everything including pizza(yuk), so I thought I would try this recipe for him. It was fabulous!! The flavor was awesome(totally surprised me as I thought the 2 ingredients-ranch&shake-n-bake, did not sound like it would be good together). Also, the chicken was so tender & juicy. I would definitely make it again. The highlight was when my son came home from school & saw I was making it for him & came right over to give me a hug & kiss & tell me "Thanks & I love you!"

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Yes, I would make this recipe again, HOWEVER, I would make one modification. Yes, I would make this recipe again, HOWEVER, I would make one modification. I enjoyed the simplicity of this recipe, though I don't usually have Shake & Bake on hand. My guys found this recipe to be too salty, and I think that can be attributed to the Shake&Bake. We all liked the flavor from the ranch dressing, and I will try other varieties of ranch (Bacon ranch sounds good!). But in the future I will substitute crushed rice crispy or corn flakes in place of the Shake & Bake.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from This was very easy to make. This was very easy to make. The chicken was moist on the inside and the outside coating was crispy. No, it's not your typical fried chicken, but for baked 'fried' chicken, it was very good. My husband does not like ranch dressing, but he liked he chicken. I think the ranch gave the coating a bit of zip. We are trying to eat healthier and my husband said that he thought this recipe would help him through his next fried chicken craving. Thanks! We'll be making this again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very good! Very good! I mixed it up: Used boneless, skinless chicken breasts instead of pieces. Used Kraft Peppercorn Ranch instead of Light. Used plain bread crumbs instead of Shake 'N Bake. Topped with shredded cheddar the last few minutes of baking. My husband & I really liked it. You can't really tell it's ranch dressing, it just makes the chicken very moist under the breading. Chicken, cheddar, ranch is a huge flavor combo nowdays! Will make again. Cook in St. Louis, MO

My 12 y/o and i are partial to chicken thighs, so that's what i used, and the store i went to didn't have the shake and bake used in this recipe so i used extra crispy. although next time i'll have to use 2 packets because i barely covered the last two thighs. my picky daughter loved the dish and so did i, it was easy and delicious, a nice cheat to salving over a hot stove and getting burnt by hot grease

It is delicious, of course I added my own seasoning before coating and marinating, i'm made it twice already and i will definitely make it again. It is healthy and fresh and I used all drumsticks and it really only takes 45 minutes to cook thoroughly and taste delicious! My whole family loves it! I recommend it to all. Also you could substitute the ranch dressing for Miracle Whip. Enjoy!

My husband hates ranch dressing but I really wanted to try this so I made it and didn't tell him the ingredients. We both thought this was d'lish, even my children enjoyed it. I used boneless skinless breasts and cooked it on a perforated pizza pan to make sure the bottom wouldn't get soggy. Great flavor- the ranch dressing made a simple tangy taste that was perfect.
