Make It

Tap or click steps to mark as complete

  • Heat oven to 350°F.
  • Brown meat in large skillet on medium-high heat. Meanwhile, mix 1-1/4 cups mozzarella, ricotta, 1/4 cup Parmesan, parsley and egg until blended.
  • Drain meat; return to skillet. Stir in pasta sauce. Add 1 cup water to empty sauce jar; cover with lid and shake well. Add to meat mixture; stir until blended. Spread 1 cup meat sauce onto bottom of 13x9-inch baking dish; top with layers of 3 lasagna noodles, 1/3 of the ricotta cheese mixture and 1 cup meat sauce. Repeat layers twice. Top with remaining noodles, meat sauce and cheeses. Cover with foil sprayed with cooking spray.
  • Bake 1 hour or until heated through, removing foil after 45 min. Let stand 15 min. before cutting to serve.

Size Wise

Since this comfort-food classic serves 12, it's the perfect dish to serve at your next large gathering of family or friends.

Note

The noodles will expand as the lasagna bakes to fill the baking dish.

Variation

Prepare using extra-lean ground beef, and substituting 2 egg whites for the whole egg.

Note

Adding water to the sauce helps cook the traditional noodles during baking so you don't have to cook them beforehand. This saves you 15 to 20 minutes of prep time.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Pretty much the best lasagne I've ever eaten! Pretty much the best lasagne I've ever eaten! After I made a few changes, of course... Added a little italian seasoning to the meat & sauce mixture as well as some crushed red pepper for a tiny kick. Added a can of garlic & oregano diced tomatoes, and another half jar of sauce. Added some extra mozz and half a container of cottage cheese to the ricotta mixture, to stretch it as well as give some additional texture. You really do need the increases to both the sauce and the cheese mixtures. Used Dreamfields lasagne noodles to reduce the carbs. If you've never tried any of the Dreamfields pastas, I highly recommend them, especially for diabetics. Delicous, everything came out perfect!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I have a very picky crowd of two growing boys and their dad. I have a very picky crowd of two growing boys and their dad. From the very first time ****** this recipe, it's been a huge hit. We all love it so much!! The last few times, I tried ****** it from memory, and I forgot the egg. But it wasn't noticeable, so I omitted it last time and tonight. One less ingredient, a little less cholesterol (maybe?), still a bunch of happy boys! I also started adding more noodles, ****** it 4 across instead of 3; and it worked perfectly, and created a couple more servings. We NEVER have leftovers on this dish :-) love it, love Kraft recipes!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This recipe is great, and it will be my go to lasagna recipe from now on. This recipe is great, and it will be my go to lasagna recipe from now on. I made a few changes to the recipe. I cooked 2 sweet Italian sausages (without the casing), 3 garlic cloves, and 3 small onions with the ground beef. I added 1/2 tsp of fennel and Italian herbs to the ricotta mixture. I added 10 oz of thawed, frozen spinach to the layers. I was only able to use 9 lasagna noodles (3 layers total). It was soupy when I took it out of the oven after an hour, but after letting it sit 15 minutes, it was the perfect consistency. I will definitely be making this again!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from This was delicious! This was delicious! I added some mild Italian sausage, diced bell peppers, and mushrooms to the sauce. Also, added a can of seasoned diced tomatoes with liquid and omitted the water. Letting it sit for 15 minutes after baking is a must. Everyone loved this so much that the kids took leftovers to school the next day. This will be a regular in our home. :)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I just made this for the first time yesterday. I just made this for the first time yesterday. It was a big hit! I did run out of sauce but simply opened up another jar to top it off. I like that it can be made in the morning and then cooked later. It stayed nice and moist and the edges were not hard. It's gone already and I will definitely make this on a regular basis. The video was a great help :)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This recipe is simple to make and is super delicious. This recipe is simple to make and is super delicious. Instead of parsley, I added basil leaves and instead of ground beef I used ground turkey. I also used regular ricotta cheese and mozzarella cheese, none of them low fat or part skim. So glad to make lasagna without cooking the noodles! Very tasty lasagna!

WallyB07: To spice this up we always add a couple of spicy Italian sausage to the hamburger before browning (removing the skins) and a couple of dashes of cayenne, some diced bell pepper & onion sauteed in the sauce make such a difference. A good recipe, just needs a little tweaking.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This is going to be a new family staple! This is going to be a new family staple! It was fairly easy to make and really was delicious. Even my kids who normally don't eat Stouffer's Lasagna enjoyed this recipe. I look forward to experimenting with various spices as I make it more, but as-is, this is a great family meal!
