  • Cook bacon in large skillet on medium heat until crisp, turning frequently. Drain bacon, reserving drippings in skillet. Cool.
  • Add green pepper and onion to drippings in skillet; cook 3 minutes or until crisp-tender, stirring occasionally. Reduce heat to low.
  • Stir in pork and beans, Northern beans, barbecue sauce and sugar; simmer 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. Sprinkle with crumbled bacon.

Great Substitute

Substitute 1/4 cup OSCAR MAYER Real Bacon Bits for the OSCAR MAYER Bacon. Heat 1 Tbsp. oil in large skillet on medium heat. Add green pepper and onion; continue as directed.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I used 1/2 cup of a combination of red, yellow, and green bell peppers. I used 1/2 cup of a combination of red, yellow, and green bell peppers. Combined all ingredients and an extra sprinkle of sugar on top and baked them. It made it easier to transport and the hostess just popped them in a 350 degree oven to warm before serving. Great dish. Everyone enjoyed.

These baked beans are so easy to make and they are different from the normal beans with bacon or hot dogs. My family loves them and I am always asked to bring these for family gatherings. Bit hit!!!
