What You Need

pkg. (2-layer size) yellow cake mix

tub (8 oz.) COOL WHIP Whipped Topping, thawed, divided

large JET-PUFFED Marshmallows

1/4

cup green decorating sugar

tube (1.5 oz.) black decorating gel

cup cold milk

pkg. (4-serving size) JELL-O Vanilla Flavor Instant Pudding

2 or 3

drops green food coloring

Make It

PREPARE cake batter and bake as directed on package for cupcakes. Cool. Place 1/3 cup of the whipped topping in large resealable plastic bag. Add marshmallows; seal bag. Shake until evenly coated. Place decorating sugar in shallow pan. Add marshmallows; toss lightly until marshmallows are evenly coated. Place in single layer on tray; decorate as desired using decorating gel.

POUR milk into medium bowl. Add dry pudding mix. Beat 2 min. Gently stir in remaining whipped topping until well blended. Spoon 1-1/2 cups of the pudding mixture into small bowl. Add food coloring; stir until blended. Spoon into small resealable plastic bag. Snip off 1 corner from bottom of bag; set aside.

CUT 1-inch chunk from top of each cupcake with small knife; remove and reserve for snacking or other use. Pipe pudding mixture from bag into holes in cupcakes. Spread tops with remaining pudding mixture. Top with the marshmallows. Store in refrigerator.

Fun Idea

For more colorful cupcakes, add 1 or 2 drops each yellow and red food colorings to the remaining (plain) pudding mixture to tint it orange before spreading onto tops of filled cupcakes.

Variation

Omit black decorating gel. Prepare and frost cupcakes as directed. Cut black licorice into small pieces. Use to make monster faces on the coated marshmallows before placing on tops of cupcakes.

I made these for a treat before Halloween. They were delicous and fun to make, but I only gave them 4 stars because I feel there's an error in the recipe. In order to cover all the marshmallows, I had to use 1/2 c. of decorating sugar. So, if you'd like to make these, be prepared! Otherwise, the recipe was great!

My stepson and I made these delicious cupcakes last night! They were wonderful and so much fun to make.

This recipe turned out fabulous. The whipped icing inside the cupcake was a great idea. It made my Halloween party delightful. I ran out of green sugar though, and I had to use Wilton green food spray. This was one of the best cupcakes I've ever had. 5 stars, 6 if I could!

Messy to make and did not turn out as " clean and pretty" as the picture. Difficult to coat the marshmallow completely in green and handle it without wiping off the sugar.

Made these for my kids to take to school for their Halloween party last year. All the kids (and the teachers) loved them!

My kids and I had fun making these cupcakes for a family Halloween gathering. Instead of cutting holes in the middle of the cupcakes, I used the bismark tip of my cake decorator to poke through the top and fill the cupcakes. It worked great.

This weekend I invited my mom and sister over and we made these for the kids. I did the cupcakes, my mom prepared the icing and my sis did the marshmellows. The moms enjoyed cooking the treats and the kids enjoyed eating them. These taste very good and is a nice treat instead of the traditional Halloween candy.

My Son's birthday is Oct 30, so every year we make something cute/ghoulish for school, he turned 5 this year. He and his classmates just loved these. I used the frosting to coat the marshmellos instead of cool whip, I had no problem with them running. They were easy! I wiwould make them again!

Was a hit at my hubby's work did the green on inside and orange topping got calls from my hubby's co-workers for recipe. Did not have the runny problem that a previous reader had! Looked exactly as pictured as do all your other recipes
