Wonderful, another viewer mentioned, and I have, made a similiar recipe with three kinds of beans. I used two this time, pintos and great northern. Personally, I fry the bacon first then crumble it up and use the bacon drippings ( I like my bacon to look crispy fried). I also use a dark bbq sauce with a splash of Bourbon, and some chopped red pepper. It is great with Lima, Kidney, and Cannaloni Beans as well. Make sure to rinse and drain your beans. Thanks for the delicious cuisine!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I had a large group to cook for over the holiday weekend, so I tripled this recipe. I had a large group to cook for over the holiday weekend, so I tripled this recipe. I probably put the beans into the crockpot too early, but they came out great. In addition I used a couple of tablespoons of hot sauce to rinse out the bar-b-que sauce bottle. It added just the right amount of kick to the beans.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from So good. So good. I doctored mine up though. I used dark brown sugar as opposed to light and probably more like a cup of it, I used half a bottle of BBQ sauce, a squirt of ketchup and mustard. Used onion flakes as opposed to a real onion and used 4 pieces of bacon instead of two. So easy. Will definitely make again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This is the best baked bean recipe ever. This is the best baked bean recipe ever. My husband and I love it. It is easy and simple to do. I am making it for the first time for our church vacation Bible school this week. I can't wait to see what everyone says about it. I also add 1 pound of fried hamburger to this recipe. love it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from These beans are really good. These beans are really good. My husband asks for them any time I make ribs or pork. If you run out of time and don't have time to mess with the slow cooker, put them in a casserole dish and put them in the oven on 350 for an hour. Tastes the exact same! I definitely recommend this recipe!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Big hit at our family party for Memorial Day! Big hit at our family party for Memorial Day! I added 2 more slices of bacon and used a different BBQ sauce than called for. My sauce was tangy and I think that was what everyone liked about the beans. The slow cooker is great - I don't think it heats up the kitchen like the oven does.

As we eat low carb I used a low carb barbeque sauce and instead of brown sugar used yellow mustard for 1/8 cup and more bbq sauce for the other 1/8 cup. Also tried to use some Wortcheshire sauce and or steak sauce instead of bbq sauce for the other 1/8 cup. Delicious and simple.
