  • Place ribs in slow cooker; top with onions, then combined remaining ingredients. Cover with lid.
  • Cook on LOW 6 to 8 hours (or on HIGH 3 to 4 hours). Remove ribs from slow cooker; cover to keep warm.
  • Skim excess fat from sauce; return ribs to sauce. Stir gently until evenly coated.

Serving Suggestion

Serve with 1/2 cup of mashed potatoes and 1/2 cup of sautéed vegetables to round out the meal.

Note

Meats cooked in a slow cooker make great leftovers. Cover and refrigerate any leftover meat in the leftover sauce. When ready to reheat, remove and discard any fat from surface of sauce. Cook ribs and sauce in saucepan on medium-low heat until heated through, stirring frequently.

Special Extra

For easy cleanup, line slow cooker with plastic liner bag before filling with ingredients and cooking as directed.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from The sauce was fantastic, but the ribs were a lacking in flavor. The sauce was fantastic, but the ribs were a lacking in flavor. Not sure why, I followed the recipe exactly and based on the reviews expected a wow on this dish. The ribs needed salt and something more to make it mesh with the sauce. They fell off the bone, but were boring. Maybe a rub or something or something was needed. Definitely looking for a better recipe that makes the beef taste as good as the sauce.

I prepared this two nights ago and let the meat sit in the sauce overnight and then cook for 6 hours yesterday. While I dont eat meat - my parents were in town visiting my 'other half' & I and they each said it was fantastic. I added another cup or so of kraft honey bbq dressing, cut out the flour, and added extra honey, and mustard...and used a about 1/2 cup of water to get the sauce out of each bottle...then let it sit over night, and after it was finished yesterday afternoon they raved about it...I will be making this again!

Folllowed suggestion of another review: pulled ribs out of crock pot after 6 hours (cooked on low) and put into pan, covered in the sauce, topped with some extra BBQ sauce, and baked at 375 for 15 minutes to glaze the sauce. Really flavorful and very filling!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very good - very easy! Very good - very easy! I made the recipe exactly as shown except I used country-style ribs. I wouldn't change a thing! The meat ended up fall-off-the-bone tender so your couldn't pick them up and walk around with them :O) but they were delicious.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Very easy but bland. Very easy but bland. I prefer my meat seasoned. Although BBQ sauce has a lot of sodium meat still some salt. I will try this again but season my meat properly before cooking with salt and other spices and leave out the flour.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Really good ribs. Really good ribs. Noticed that the recipe does not call for salt, so I just rubbed some Kosher salt before cooking. follow previous reviews and finish cooking in the oven for a thick and glaze sauce. Will make them again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very tasty! Very tasty! I used boneless pork ribs, seasoned them with black & white pepper, garlic & onion powder. I put in the oven at 450o on a rack & baked for 20 minutes turning 1/2 way through cooking to cook off some of the fat. I also used 1 cup spicey bbq sauce, 3 Tbl dijon mustard, 2 dried red hot peppers because we love spicey & savory. I did not use honey. Will definitely make again. Thanks for the recipe!! ;o)

I found teh recipe to be a little to sweet and would reccomend putting just two table spoons of honey for a stuble sweet taste instead of 1/4 cup of honey. As for the barbque, i would strongly reccommend using the original barbq sauce for a more authentic taste....overall this recipie was superb and my boyfriend loved it for Valentine's day! I would def. cook this again!
