Sweets can be part of a balanced diet but remember to keep tabs on portions.
This recipe works best in a round slow cooker between 4 and 5 qt. If your slow cooker is larger than this, line the empty slow cooker with heavy-duty foil sprayed with cooking spray before using as directed. This helps prevent the edges of the cake from overcooking.
For best results, use a whisk to mix the cake batter since an electric mixer will produce a cake with a tough texture.

I have been ****** this recipe for years. It is a family favorite. I use one 12oz bag of chocolate chips and a very important step that is not mentioned here is to cover the crockpot with paper towels. The towels will absorb the moisture and prevent it from collecting on the top of the cake. I usually change out the towels once during the cooking process. The is a keeper!!!
I've made this twice - very easy and super tasty.
Tip: don't chop the bakers' chocolate into super tiny tiny shavings... leaving small chunks gives the cake a more entertaining texture.
I've made it on the slow cooker's "low" setting twice, and both times the cake needed 6 or more hours, not 4-5.
Don't waste your time or money. Make some thick fudge brownies & frost them or have them with hot fudge.
