  • Add chuck roast to the bottom of a slow cooker. Top with water, chicken broth, soy sauce, bay leaf, rosemary and thyme. Cover and cook on high for 6 hours. Shred the meat with a fork and let it cook for an additional 15-20 minutes in the liquid. Remove the meat and then strain the liquid. Place liquid in a jar or air tight container.
  • Put the oven on broil.
  • Cut a slice on the top of the hoagie roll. Place on a baking sheet and then top with meat and the provolone cheese and broil for 2 minutes or until cheese has melted.
