Rated 5 out of 5 by from I've made this recipe numerous time. I've made this recipe numerous time. For my family, for friends and tonight-for myself to portion out over the week as work meals. SO GOOD. EVERYTIME. However-I do combine this recipe with another Kraft foods recipe-"Slow Cooker Market Fresh Pot Roast" I use 3 lb beef, onion soup mix, A1, beef broth, a splash (or glass!) of red wine, some minced garlic and the potatoes and carrots. If I cook for more-of course I will get a bigger cut of beef and and more veggies. This recipe is always delish and I'm always asked for the recipe. This is SO easy. Tonight after it was done cooking, I pulled the potatoes and carrots out and mashed them with some of the au jus and some savory garlic Philly cream cheese and wowza. I don't know why people rate this recipe as awful bc I truly love to make and eat this recipe!!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I make this all the time. I make this all the time. First time I did the roast. Second time I didn't have any veggies so I put the meat and mix in the crock and we left for the day. Not even thinking about what we would eat with it we decided to grab buns on the way home. Good thing we did, the meat was so tender it fell to pieces, the onion melted away. This is the only way I make it now. We have it with swiss cheese and horseradish sauce.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from YUCK! YUCK! It didn't look like a very good recipe, but I had all the ingredients, so I gave it a try. Threw it out and made grilled cheese sandwiches that night. BTW, who is "the cook"? I've never seen so many wildly contrasting reviews on every recipe! I've counted as many 7-8 reviews on one recipe, rating "loved it", "hated it" and everything in between!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Super delicious! Super delicious! I used just onion soup mix instead of onion/mushroom and used russet potatoes cut into chunks. I would recommend adding a little bit more liquid, I checked when it was almost done and the veggies on top were a little dry. I added some water and cooked another 30 minutes and it turned out great! Definitely a repeat dinner.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Easy recipe for a busy day. Easy recipe for a busy day. Unless you are really a fan of A1 sauce, I would use half or less than called for. I think a can of stewed tomatoes would be better. I used regular potatoes cut in cubes and the same with carrots. I also added a cubed turnip and of course garlic. I did not have mushroom gravy on hand, so used brown gravy mix.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I made this recipe and it was delicious. I made this recipe and it was delicious. I changed it slightly. I didn't have onion mushroom soup so I used beefy onion. I also used 1/4 cup of red wine and 1/4 cut water instead of 1/2 cup of water. I added some extra spices such as paprika, garlic powder, crushed red pepper and fresh crushed black pepper. It was excellent!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I changed a few things up after reading the reviews about the A1 taking over the flavor. I changed a few things up after reading the reviews about the A1 taking over the flavor. I reduced the A1 to 2 tbs and used 1 can of beef broth rather than water. It was great. My husband commented several times how good it was so with those alterations - this one is a keeper for my family.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This is the best pot roast I have ever had, my husband said the same and my kids devoured it. This is the best pot roast I have ever had, my husband said the same and my kids devoured it. Definitely worthy of 5 stars. I didn't even need a knife to cut the meat it was so tender. I cooked it on high for 6 hours then put it on low for 2 hours. I served it with buttermilk biscuits.
