Add 2 garlic cloves, 1 sliced onion and 1 bay leaf to ingredients in slow cooker before topping with the barbecue sauce and orange juice. Remove and discard bay leaf after skimming fat from cooking liquid before using to moisten cooked meat as directed.
Meat mixture can be prepared ahead of time. Moisten chopped or shredded cooked meat with the sauce, then cool completely. Divide into 3 batches (about 2 cups each); spoon into freezer containers or freezer-weight resealable plastic bags. Freeze up to 2 months. When ready to prepare, thaw meat as needed in refrigerator overnight, heat mixture then use as directed.
For easy cleanup, line slow cooker with plastic liner bag before filling with ingredients and cooking as directed.
