  • Mix first 4 ingredients just until blended; shape into 1-inch balls. Place in slow cooker; top with vegetables and pasta sauce. Cover with lid.
  • Cook on LOW 6 to 8 hours (or on HIGH 3 to 4 hours).
  • Cook spaghetti as directed on package, omitting salt.
  • Drain spaghetti. Serve topped with meatballs, sauce and cheese.

Make it Easy

Make your slow cooker preparation even faster. Shape the meatballs and cut up the peppers the night before. Refrigerate until ready to add to the slow cooker. Top with pasta sauce and cook as directed.

I made these meatballs with a meatball/meatloaf meat mixture instead of plain hamburger. I made the meatballs and fried them in a little bit of olive oil just to brown them and keep them together and just put them in a regular pot, not the crock-pot (crock-pots make things too soft sometimes) with the sauce and cooked it until the meat was not pink anymore. I think using the meatball mixture instead of the plain hamburger cut down the stuffing flavor and made it tender and not mushy. I don't think its a good idea to put meatballs in a crock-pot for 6-8 hrs or even 3-4 and think that they are gonna come out anything other than mushy

Rated 5 out of 5 by from BEST meatballs "Ive" ever made. BEST meatballs "Ive" ever made. So easy too. My mother, who makes awesome meatballs & sauce just loved these and that says ALOT. I have made these 6 or 7 times already that is how much we like them. It is important to use good quality, low fat ground beef. I use 1/2 beef with 1/2 ground sausage. Also, a good quality sauce you have tried and really like will make a big difference. Quality ingredients yeild a quality product. If yours is coming out greasy it is due to the meat you are using. Quality ingredients, yield a quality product. A+++

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I have never made meatballs before. I have never made meatballs before. I read up on the reviews first to see how what really worked. I have a new crockpot so I decided to make this dish. Very easy prep, I used italian breadcrumbs instead of stuffing mix. I added fresh sliced mushrooms, chopped red onion and green bell peppers (my kids actually love veggies) dab of salt and pepper, italian seasoning. Let it cook (I dipped a small cup to get the excess fat off the top of sauce from meat when done) and it was FANTASTIC!!!!! I will be making this again. Served with garlic bread and a fresh green salad!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from YUM! YUM!I used 2.25lbs of beef, 1 package of stovetop, 2 eggs & 1/2 cup of water. I also use green peper & mushroom sauce instead of adding fresh veggies. These came out perfect & I had enough for dinner, lunch for my husband the next day & enough to freeze for another meal. I also made sure to let them cook the whole day without stirring, then just before dinner i used a large spoon to "scoop" the fat/grease off the top. This recipe is a keeper!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from This is definitely a family favorite! This is definitely a family favorite! I made it once a few weeks ago, and I'm making it again tonight. I took notice to the bad reviews for it, so I changed it up a little. There is no way I wanted to chance soggy meatballs so I turned the stuffing cubes into crumbs for a finer texture. I then threw out 1/2 cup of the crumbs before adding the rest to the meat with the other ingredients. The flavor was great and the texture was perfect.

Next time though I will partially cook the meatballs in the oven and then put in the sauce for only a couple of hours. They were too soft for the full amount of time listed for the slow cooker. I made too many for the amount of sauce that I had and finished the extras in the oven and they were fantastic. The slow cooker ones tasted great but just too soft.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from This was okay. This was okay. A lot of the meatballs fell apart because they were too moist.. the ones along the sides of the crockpot stayed together. Most of the sauce also soaked into the meatballs. It tasted pretty good but mostly ended up being REALLY meaty spaghetti sauce. I think I would bake the meatballs separately first if I was to make again... which kind of defeats the whole purpose of using the slow cooker.

I use ground turkey instead of beef, the first time I saw this recipe it called for ground turkey or beef, I went with the turkey for a healthier option. It is a bit bland I add some seasoning to make it better BUT it is VERY easy to make and little effort is needed! That is a plus for me! My kids LOVED the meatballs! I got them to eat ground turkey...I will make it again just for that fact!
