Ratings & Reviews

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This was so good! This was so good! I used regular bacon because it's what I had on hand. My only suggestion would be is to double the recipe. 1 cup, 8 servings was definitely not enough for my family of 5. We had to have seconds!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good but watch cooling time Made this for dinner last night. I had 2lbs of ground beef, so I doubled the recipe as others had recommended. I cooked the bacon first, then sautéed the onion in the bacon butter. Then I browned the ground beef, adding Lawry's seasoning salt and worchester sauce as it cooked. Since I double the recipe, I used a 10'x12' instead of a 9"x9" . I mixed the bacon in with the beef, then topped with the cheese. I used a full 20 oz bag of tater tots which just covered the top perfectly, and I cooked it for 32 min at 400. I thought that the meat base was too thin and would have been better in a 9x11, or even smaller. Also by the time the tots were throughly cooked and nicely browned, the meat had started to scorch. Another reviewer recommend precooking the tots have way to prevent overcooking, and I think that is a good idea.
