  • Cook spaghetti as directed on package, omitting salt.
  • Meanwhile, brown meat in large skillet. Stir in sauce and cream cheese; cook on low heat 3 to 5 min. or until sauce is blended and heated through, stirring frequently.
  • Drain spaghetti. Add to sauce; mix lightly. Place on platter; top with Parmesan.

Special Extra

Cook 1 cup each chopped bell peppers and onions with the ground beef.

Sprinkle with chopped fresh basil or parsley before serving.

Variation

I made this tonight, using Kraft Neufchâtel cheese (1/3 less fat cream cheese), and used 3 ounces instead of 4. We really enjoyed it! I also added about 1/8 cup of the hot pasta water. Easy recipe too, and a twist on the standard sauce. I love easy recipes for those busy nights, or times when I don't feel like cooking. I'll make this again, thanks for a great recipe!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This is a really good sauce. This is a really good sauce. The first time I made it with spaghetti pasta; however, the second time, I used rigatoni pasta and liked it even more. I think this thick sauce is better with rigatoni. Give it a try!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I make this recipe instead of plain spagetti sauce all the time. I make this recipe instead of plain spagetti sauce all the time. My husband doesn't like red sauce very much, so when you add in some cream cheese it cut backs on that strong taste. It's great.
