Kids love making and eating these yummy star-shaped cereal treats. After inserting onto pop sticks they’re decorated with icing and sprinkles.

What You Need

1/4

cup (1/2 stick) butter or margarine

bag (10-1/2 oz.) JET-PUFFED Miniature Marshmallows (6 cups)

cups crisp rice cereal

wooden pop sticks

tube (0.68 oz.) each: red, white and blue decorating gels

Tbsp. each: red, white and blue sprinkles

Make It

LINE 13x9-inch pan with foil, with ends of foil extending over sides of pan; lightly grease foil.

MICROWAVE butter in large microwavable bowl on HIGH 45 sec. or until melted. Add marshmallows; toss to coat. Microwave 1-1/2 min. or until marshmallows are completely melted, stirring after 45 sec. Add cereal; mix well. Press cereal mixture firmly onto bottom of prepared pan; cool.

REMOVE cereal mixture from pan, using foil handles. Cut into star shapes, using large star-shaped cookie cutter. Insert wooden stick into side of each star. Decorate with gels and sprinkles. Store in airtight container at room temperature.

Melt butter in large saucepan on low heat. Add marshmallows; cook until marshmallows are completely melted and mixture is well blended, stirring constantly. Remove from heat. Add cereal; mix well. Continue as directed.

The recipe tasted delicious! Next time I would use a better cookie cutter though.

I didn't have any trouble getting these to cut out! I used a large Wilton brand star cutter and they were GREAT :)

It is a little tricky to get the shapes cut out, but worth it. They are so cute. I did not use the wooden sticks...just put them on a plate.

The treats themselves were tasty - but using the cookie cutters with the sticky marshmellow is a bit messy and hard to keep its shape. would just cut into squares but use the same recipe next time.

I made these for a fourth of July party as a treat for the kids. Everyone loved them even the adults.

these were a bit tricky to cut and get out perfectly, but tasting them with the icing on there was worth it. they were a hit at the 4th of july picnic we went to.

Had a party and made these for kid treats and they loved it...so did the adults they said it was a blast from the past for them with a twist and they loved it.
