  • Mix yogurt, lemon juice, garlic powder, hot pepper sauce and chives until well blended.
  • Spread each pita bread with 1 Tbsp. of the yogurt mixture; cover with 6 cucumber slices, 1/4 cup of the lettuce and 6 ham slices.
  • Fold sandwiches in half to eat.

Substitute

Substitute zucchini for the cucumber.

Special Extra

For added flavor and moistness, double all of the ingredients in the yogurt sauce.

    My husband abhors cucumbers, so we sliced some tomatoes and used green onions in place of chives. I loved it! Will make this again, but probably just for myself.

    It was good, but be careful about how much lemon juice you add. I think I added too much and it gave the sandwich an odd flavor. Otherwise, it was tasty.

    This is my new favorite sandwich. It is absolutely delicious! And it's perfect for a light summer meal when you don't want to eat something too heavy.
