How to Clean Spinach

Spinach can hold a lot of dirt and must be thoroughly washed before using. To clean, fill a large bowl with water, then swish spinach around in water until most of the dirt comes off. Repeat process 2 or 3 times, using clean water each time, until no more dirt clings to the spinach. Rinse thoroughly under running water and remove hard stems. Spin dry in salad spinner and/or pat dry with paper towels. Use immediately or store in refrigerator up to 4 days.

Substitute

Use any variety of pasta including whole wheat pasta to make this fresh and flavorful dish.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from First time to make this, I quadrupled the recipe for our Women's Retreat main dinner course. First time to make this, I quadrupled the recipe for our Women's Retreat main dinner course. It was EXACTLY the correct amount for 32 persons and was the hit of the event! I highly recommend this recipe for light fare. (Make sure you have the right vessels for this quantity.) The only complaint was from a picky lactose intolerant person who let me know too late to leave out cheese in her portion. But, overall, this has wonderful presentation and flavor. Added a side of a deviled egg and muffin, and angel food cake for dessert. Thanks Kraft for making me look good!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from I print and cook many of your recipes and enjoy most of them. I print and cook many of your recipes and enjoy most of them. However, so many of them contain a variety of Kraft salad dressing as an ingredient that they are all starting to taste alike. I love your salad dressings on salads!!!! Eliminating the dressings and substituting other ingredients (herbs, seasonings, etc) would give the recipes a much improved "from scratch" flavor.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from this was a very good dinner. this was a very good dinner. The prep time was a little longer. However the end result was worth it. I would recomend leaving out the extra water, it seemed to reduce the taste a bit. The family loved and I would make the recipe again. Thanks for such a great website.

I made this recipe with a few substitutions based upon what I had in my kitchen at the time. I used DiGuorno Pesto sauce in place of the dressing, substituted red pepper for the tomato, and left out the bacon. My husband said, "Yeah, I think I really like this!"

I did make some changes to the pasta... instead of the wide noodle (which I didn't like the first time) I changed to bow tie and I used the real bacon bits/pieces. . Very good!
