Family Fun

Kids really go for this fun dessert. While they're cutting out their favorite shapes, you can prepare a fruit salad to serve with the treats.

Creative Leftovers

The gelatin scraps remaining in the pan after the cutouts are done can be refrigerated in a tightly covered container and then tossed with cut-up fruit for a colorful dessert the whole family is sure to love.

Prepare as directed, using your favorite fruit juice. Bring juice just to boil before stirring into the dry gelatin mixes.

Instead of cutting the gelatin out with cookie cutters, use a small sharp knife to cut the gelatin into 1-inch cubes.

How to Halve Recipe

Prepare as directed, using 8- or 9-inch square pan and cutting all ingredients in half. Makes 12 servings.

How to Store

Store in tightly covered container in refrigerator.

Ratings & Reviews

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Great idea, not functional. Great idea, not functional. Problem #1: The jello stuck to the pan, even when dipping in warm water. Problem #2: The cookie cutters were not deep enough to cut thru the jello. Problem #3: The color was not black, but a dark, brown rust color. Solution #1: Line the pan with Quick Release Foil, worked like a charm! Solution #2: Use BIG cookie cutters, or a bigger pan to make the jello thinner. Solution #3: Use 3 boxes of black cherry and 1 box of orange to get black.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from These turned out really well. These turned out really well. If you actually spray the dish lightly with cooking spray before adding the jello, then the jello will not stick to the pan and you don't have to dip it in warm water. These also set up really quickly too. I would make these for any occasion using different colors and shapes.
