Rated 4 out of 5 by from Some people see sugar and think that it will ruin a steak.........nonsense! Some people see sugar and think that it will ruin a steak.........nonsense! Merely two teaspoons of sugar along with salt, pepper and garlic powder enhance the flavor and do not at all take away from the beef flavor. Now take A-1 sauce or any other sauce and I say that is a No-No! Sauces definitely ruin a good steak. The taste of vinegar in these sauces is awful. All in all, this is very good!!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very interesting flavor to this dish. Very interesting flavor to this dish. The sweet brown sugar was a nice touch, but next time I think I'll cut back a bit on the garlic and onion (which I love by th way, it's not that I don't like garlic and onion, it just seemed a little strong in this recipe) and I'll up the black pepper a bit. Over all very good recipe, no steak sauce needed!

I add 1 teaspoon of lemon juice to this and use finely chopped fresh garlic instead of garlic powder. And of course fresh ground pepper is always better than preground pepper in a can. I agreee with other review that letting it sit in the fridge for about an hour really lets the flavors soak into the meat...yummy!!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from If I were going to make this again I would definitely use less garlic powder. If I were going to make this again I would definitely use less garlic powder. My boyfriend and I both finished but felt it wasn't all that. The sugar didn't really make much difference and it needed more pepper. Good idea, but lots of room for improvement.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I thought this was great! I thought this was great! I did add 1 tsp of salt to the rub; since I only put the rub on 10 minutes before grilling, I wasn't worried about the salt drying the meat or making it weep too much. We grilled it to medium and I used a NY strip.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Delicious flavor. Delicious flavor. I used the seasonings as a rub just before placing on the grill. The immediate aroma was mouth watering. My steak had to go on the frill first as i like mine more on the done side vs my husband's desire for medium.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from I tried this recipe and found the taste to be an unusual one. I tried this recipe and found the taste to be an unusual one. I was not a big fan of this recipe as I felt it was too sweet and in my opinion a steak should never be sweet. It wasn't terrible but I will not make this again.
