Rated 4 out of 5 by from I altered the recipe a bit, using 16 oz. I altered the recipe a bit, using 16 oz. of cooked breakfast sausage instead of bacon and 2 cups of cheese instead of 1 cup. It turned out very well, and it required very little effort. I made this on Christmas morning -- cooking the sausage and assembling it took about ten minutes, and after that, I just put it in the oven and let it bake while we opened presents. It was finished about the same time we were!

The childern are disappointed when I don't bring it. I sometimes add diced onions, extra cheese and eggs. When I do this I cook it in 3 pie plates sprayed with Pam. This makes nice crustless pies. I pass this recipe along frequently.

I would make this again and cook it the morning of. I also put diced ham and more cheese in it and it was good.
