Make It

Tap or click steps to mark as complete

  • Mix pretzel crumbs and butter in 13x9-inch pan; press onto bottom of pan. Refrigerate until ready to use.
  • Combine condensed milk, puréed strawberries and lime juice in large bowl. Gently stir in COOL WHIP; spread over crust.
  • Freeze 6 hours. Remove from freezer about 15 min. before serving; let stand at room temperature to soften slightly. Serve topped with sliced strawberries.

Size Wise

Stick to the serving size. A small portion of this rich strawberry dessert is all that is needed.

Strawberry Margarita Pie

Prepare dessert as directed, pressing crumb mixture onto bottom and up side of 9-inch pie plate before adding strawberry filling and freezing as directed.

Special Extra

For easy cleanup, line baking pan with foil using this easy method.  Turn pan upside down and fit a piece of foil over top of pan, smoothing corners as needed.  Remove foil.  When you turn the pan over, the foil fits perfectly inside the pan.

Make it Easy

For easy cutting of frozen desserts, run a sharp knife under hot water before use.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I did find that depending on the brand of pretzels used, the crust can be salty. I did find that depending on the brand of pretzels used, the crust can be salty. While Rold Gold are my favorite for snacking, Snyders or a store brand tend to be less salty and more "bready", producing a more favorable crust. Also, I subbstiuted the strawberry Cool Whip for even more flavor, and drizzeled with a simple strawberry syrup and a swirl of whipped cream.

As we don't have Whipped Topping in Australia, I substituted it with Philly cream cheese and also used Sara Lee Mixed frozen berries instead of using the strawberries in the mixture, but still decorated with the strawberries on the top. I've just spent two days looking for this recipe as I was telling my daughter how nice it was, so she has asked for a copy.

I thought that this might be a bit to girly for them, but I was pleasantly surprised when they all sat at the picnic table with 2-3 pieces on their plates. They all said it was very refreshing on a hot summer day, and they all loved it. I had the empty pan to prove it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I made this for a Memorial Day BBQ. I made this for a Memorial Day BBQ. It soft and a little runny from sitting out. Next time, I will try adding cream cheese, as suggested in the variations. I had to use extra butter for the crust. I used my Pampered Chef pizza cutter to cut it, and it zipped right through - much faster than trying to get a knife through the frozen layers.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This recipe was great. This recipe was great. The lime gives it a kick so to compliment that I added some sea salt to the pretzel crust before adding the filling. I would recommend adding more butter to add in the crust otherwise the pretzels don't stick to the bottom like it should. Otherwise, very delicious! Everybody loved it. I will make this again.

I made this for a cookout on a hot day, being a frozen dessert it was refreshing and it didn't melt as fast as icecream would. I made it without the cream cheese the it calls for in the double swrawberry margarita squares. Thise was rich all by itself. The salty pretzals and sweet strawberries were an awesome combination.
