What You Need

baked 9-inch round white cake layers, cooled

cups boiling water

pkg. (3 oz. each) JELL-O Cherry Flavor Gelatin

tub (8 oz.) COOL WHIP Whipped Topping, thawed

OREO Cookies, finely crushed (about 1/3 cup)

1-1/2

cups assorted bug- or worm-shaped chewy fruit snacks

Make It

PLACE cake layers, top-sides up, in 2 clean 9-inch round pans. Pierce cakes with large fork at 1/2-inch intervals.

ADD boiling water to gelatin mixes in small bowl; stir 2 min. until completely dissolved. Pour over cake layers in pans. Refrigerate 3 hours.

DIP bottoms of cake pans in warm water 10 sec.; unmold. Fill and frost cake layers with COOL WHIP. Refrigerate 1 hour.

DECORATE cake with cookie crumbs and fruit snacks as desired. Use small birthday cake sparklers for candles on the cake for torches.

Cake layers can be baked weeks ahead and frozen. Thaw layers, then continue with recipe beginning with piercing the cake layers with fork.

Prepare using your favorite flavor JELL-O Gelatin.

My daughter made this cake for a church cake auction. The cake received the most bids than any other cake! It also sold for the highest amount in the auctions history! She was very proud of herself as so was I!

Made this for my son's 10th birthday party. Big hit with all the kids and the moms all wanted to know how I did it. They thought it was a lot more complicated then it was. Will make this again for Halloween, with a few color changes of course!!

I made this cake for my son's 9th birthday party and it was a hit! The kids loved it and it was very tasty also.
